Kopargaon is not a Mumbai suburb, and it would be dishonest to write about it as though it were. It is a town on the north bank of the Godavari, and almost everyone who calls us from here is passing through rather than living here. The reason is Shirdi, roughly fifteen kilometres down the road. Kopargaon was the railhead pilgrims used long before Shirdi had a station of its own, and the Kolhar–Manmad highway still carries that traffic straight through town. Around it sits the ordinary working town — the ST bus stand, the market lanes behind it, the Sanjivani college campus out on the Shirdi road, and the sugar belt beyond that.
Kopargaon railway station is on the Manmad to Daund line, so trains from Mumbai, Nashik, Pune and Aurangabad all pass through, and plenty of visitors get down here rather than carrying on. Lodges and hotels sit in two places: in the town itself near the station and bus stand, and strung along the highway between Kopargaon and Shirdi. Tell us which of the two you are in, because it changes the trip completely. The Godavari bridge on the south side is the other landmark people give, since anyone coming up from the Ahmednagar side crosses it to get in.
This is an outcall town. We come to your hotel or lodge; incall is rarely on offer in Kopargaon and we will say so on the call rather than string you along. The honest part is the notice. We do not keep a large standing group here the way we do in Mumbai — most girls travel in from the Shirdi, Nashik or Ahmednagar side, and that is a road trip of one to two hours, not a twenty minute ride. So a booking made in the afternoon for the same evening works well. A booking made at eleven at night for midnight usually does not, and we will tell you that instead of taking your money and hoping. If you are out on the highway stretch towards Shirdi, add another fifteen to twenty minutes on top. Thursdays, weekends and festival days around Shirdi fill every room and slow every road in the district, so plan further ahead on those.
